Years ago I became enamored by Idlewild Arneis, a savory white wine with notes of honey and herbs and a stoney finish. Since then I have followed winemaker Sam Bilbro’s work closely and have gotten to know him. He’s a gem of a guy and next Tuesday is sure to be a great time having him here at Hopscotch as the host of our next winemaker dinner.
Many of you know and share my appreciation for wines of Piemonte. In my opinion, Idlewild Wines are the best California expressions of these lovely varietals. Last year his Dolcetto knocked my socks off. The vintage of Nebbiolo he released most recently sold out so quickly I almost missed it (don’t worry, I saved a case for those of you coming to this dinner!). Next Tuesday, July 16th Chef Kyle will prepare a four-course dinner to pair with five of Sam's wines - all for $68 per person (menu below). We will be offering two seatings - the first with reservations at 5:15pm and 5:30pm, and then the second seating at 8:15pm and 8:30pm. Reservations are now by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
Hope to see you over a glass of vino soon!
